SUNSHINE COAST ARTIST SUPPORT
This message is specifically for Coastal artists. Our goal at Sunshine Coast Art Tours is to deliver a curated experience focusing on daily sightseeing tours and workshops that spotlight the area’s artistic talent throughout the year. The tour will introduce small groups of art enthusiasts to Coastal artists by boarding a 15-passenger Art Shuttle and visiting the area’s numerous private studios and public galleries. We know your time is important. To honour you, we will present a small stipend collected from each tour participant.
Sunshine Coast Art Tours is the first of its kind on the Coast, at least at this level. In essence, we are a mini Art Crawl but we operate 365 days of the year. We also add to the economic value of the region. Mostly notably, we drive increased art sales throughout the year, and even if participants aren’t buying every time they visit, they are taking the experience home with them; talking and spreading the word of the incredible artists from the Coast.
Delivery Service
Additionally, we’ll be providing delivery services for art pieces from your studio to the Lower Mainland and delivering art supplies from Vancouver to you (canvases, clay, wood, etc.). Please contact us to find out more.
COMMUNITY STEWARDSHIP
As part of our commitment to the Coast’s art community, we have contributed time and energy into helping our Coastal artists maintain a high profile. With our large Art Shuttle, we have helped numerous artists transport their work to local exhibitions. This is something the artists themselves were really thankful for—especially with extra large works that don’t typically fit in smaller vehicles. We also volunteer at the Sunshine Coast Arts Council by placing artists’ work on the walls and helping out with general exhibition set-up. If you are an artist and need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Acknowledgement
Sunshine Coast Art Tours would like to thank the following artists for their assistance in the creation of this website and helping us get on our feet: Jill Pilon, Jody Youngren, Caroline Weaver, Jen Frisk, Jocelyne Weist, Beth Hawthorn, Justin (Bro) Gilbert. Please check back shortly for our “Artist Spotlight,” which will highlight our Coastal artists and their work and present art enthusiasts the opportunity to get to know them through a video podcast interview.
